Lovely vintage framed print of "Mother and Son" by H W B Davis (1833-1914).  Tbis very popular print is in its original frame and has the sticker from the Picture Framing Department at Boots, with wire and hooks too.  The print and frame are in overall good condition, however, there are several marks to the print benath the glass, which you can see in the photos.  Lovely addition to a living room or study wall.  Measures approx 29cm x 20cm.

Lovely 1950s Sharp & Son's Hinged Lid toffee tin featuring a very nostalgic image of a village square and a lady setting off to do her shopping with her shopping basket.  Tin is in overall good condition for age but there is some wear to the image edges (please see photos).  There is a decorative design to the sides in green and gold and internally some tarnishing.  Tin measures approx 18cm x 15cm x 4cm.  Perfect for display and storing postcards, buttons and bits and bobs.

"The Blue Carpet" by Daniel Sherrin (1868-1940).  This print is in its original simple wooden frame.  Lovely image of bluebells forming a carpet beneath the woodland trees either side of a path.  Frame measures approx 20cm x 30cm.  One of three prints we have at the moment by the same artist.

Charming 1930s/1940s embroidered framed picture of a windmill down a country lane with farm buildings and cottages surrounding it.  In its original black tape frame with hooks and string to back. Picture is unusual in that it has been worked in just dark brown thread.  Measures approx 18cm x 23cm. Lovely!

"The Practical Home Handyman", by W P Matthew, published by Odhams, 1960 edition.  Wonderful, comprehensive guide to DIY around the home, offered in good condition for age.  Great dustjacket with gorgeous image, slight wear to edges.  Previous owner's inscription to inside.  Everything you need to know about handywork and repairs around the home from kitting out the tool cupboard to simple carpentry, furniture care and repair to household appliances, painting and decorating, gardening and fixing the car!  Perfect nostalgic gift.

"Black Forest Summer" by Mabel Esther Allan, published by The Children's Press late 1950s.  Very populsr children's book, telling the story of the Hartrich children who are left to fend for themselves after the death of their mother, until their German uncle invites them to holiday in the Black Forest.  Torn between leaving London and spending time in Germany, the children's happiness slowly increases as the charm of the Black Forest takes over.  Book is in overall good condition for age.  Some wear to top edge of dustjacket and slight stain to rear.

"The Young Visitors" by Daisy Ashford, published by Zodiac Books, this edition 1949.  Written when the author was only 9 years old and published years later, this is an ever popular and hugely successful book. Very entertaining and funny, a must for the bookshelves. This edition is in very good condition for age, slight fading to edges of board covers.  A lovely gift or treat for yourself!

1918 Xmas edition of Home Chat magazine, the first peacetime Xmas edition of the magazine for four years, published just after the end of WW1 in November 1918. This wonderful little magazine is full of social history as well as Christmas stories, fashion tips, gorgeous advertisements with fantastic graphics, fashion and beauty tips.  There are very interesting recipes for Christmas Puddings  and mincemeat using the food rations that were available and ideas for party dresses now that dancing was now in favour again since the end of the war.  Magazine is in good condition for age, the cover is loose from the contents though. Fabulous slice of history.

Lovely poster by celebrated artist Eileen Soper who worked with Enid Blyton to produce her nature readers in 1940s.  Macmillan published accompanying posters for use in the classroom and this is one of them.  In very good condition for age, just a couple of pinholes to corners (displayed in classroom) and a small mark where some tape has been removed (again on border),  but these would be covered if the poster were mounted before framing. Enchanting image of a magical fairy making hats from shed caterpillar coats , entitled "Hats For Sale! Hats For Sale!".  Poster measures approx 43cm x 54cm. Gorgeous!

A truly charming vintage 1950s (1958) poster depicting a little girl in her garden and her two pet dogs looking at a tortoise.  Painted by Muriel Dawson and intended as a supplement to an educational magazine, this has been folded therefore and shows signs of use in a classroom - there are pinholes to corners (in borders only, not on print) and a slight tear along one fold on right hand centre fold (measures approx 2cm, but this would not be seen if poster was framed).  Measures approx 62cm x 46cm. Please note that this is not a pristine poster and has been used and folded as it was supplied thus as a supplement. A truly enchanting garden picture - terriers, tortoises, bluetits, chaffinches and sunshine and  daisies...

Trio of vintage glass bottles in a very pretty aqua colour glass.  Three different shapes and sizes which look lovely together.  Each bottle has raised wording to the surface - "Kutnow's Powder" (12cm), "Owbridge's Lung Tonic" (13cm) and "Eiffel Tower Fruit Juices" (10cm).  Each has wonderful patina of old glass.  Simple but very sweet.

"Encyclopedia of Needlework" by Therese De Dillmont, English Edition c1890. Beautiful needlework book published at the end of the 19th century, translated from the French, this seems to be the first edition Green board covers are in good condition, endpapers to front and back are loosening but these are blank and the rest of the contents are firm and in tact. Up at the crack of dawn, hair plaited, face washed with cold, cold water, and on with the shorts and bonnet - Rambling Rose never wastes a minute indoors if she can help it.  A lover of flora and fauna she may well be but this does not mean she doesn't keep an eye on fashion too - just look at the gorgeous orange of her shorts and matching bonnet - perfect for hiding amongst the marigolds! Very old Macfarlane Lang's tin.  Tin decorated with paper labels.  We are intrigued by the original contents "Duchess Pears - Afternoon Tea cakes - Pear shaped".  Whatever they were, they sound very tempting... Lovely old tin with decorated papers, showings signs of wear and tear commensurate with age.  It is not in pristine condition as can be seen from photos with some lettering missing from rear of tin and fading and staining to lid.  However, this is a very collectible tin and would look lovely on some old kitchen shelves.  Tin measures approx 36cm x 11cm.  Makes you feel like you have walked into a very old grocer's shop. "The Birds Of Britain" by James Fisher, published by William Collins, 1942 as part of the famous Britain in Pictures series. This highly collectable series, edited by Walter James Turner, was published mostly during the Second World War and aimed to tell a social history of Britain.  This lovely book is beautifully illustrated with 12 colour plates and 26 illustrations in black and white from old engravings.  Book is in very good condition for age with its dustjacket in good condition and board covers in excellent condition. Previous owner's inscription on inside endpaper dated Xmas 1945.  Wonderful book.

Rare 1930s original edition of The Wonder Book Of Would You Believe It, published by Ward Lock in the Wonder Books series.  Book has illustrated board covers which are in very good condition. This book has recently been republished but this is the original! General Editor is Harry Golding.  Crammed full of fascinating facts - curious plants, do plants feel?, the lake above the clouds, what makes your hair stand on end, Giants - all strange but true as the subtitle says! Numerous black and white plates and eight colour ones too. You wouldn't believe it...

"Wild Flowers - How and Where To Find Them", by William Platt, published by Foulsham & Co, 1940s.  This is a Rambers Complete Guide book.  A lovely guide to identifying and spotting wild flowers in the countryside, with tips on spotting flowers month by month.  This book is also interesting in that it is a wartime reprint, as stated on dustjacket and it bears the War Economy Standard issue on inside paper. Overall book is in very good condition for age and dustjacket has only wear to edges (printed on war economy paper).  Measures 10cm x 15cm. Previous owner's inscription on inside endpaper. Inside there are delightful black and white illustrations by Dorothy Callard.  Perfect vintage pocket book for your country walks.

"Flowers" in the "Shown To The Children" series by Janet Harvey Kelman, published by Jack c1905.  One of a series of titles published to explain and describe various topics to children.  This gorgeous book has 48 lovely colour pictures to help describe the beauty of flowers that children see all around.  The flowers have been grouped together by colour and idenitfying them has been simplified.  This is absolutely charming.  Book has rare to find dustjacket too, although it has some wear to edges and spine due to age. The cloth covered board covers are in excellent condition too.  Some slight foxing to pages due to age,  Book is free from inscription and is the perfect companion on a walk or country ramble!

There are such pretty colours on this basket weave biscuit tin by Huntley & Palmers Ltd of Reading England. A good size to hold all your tea time favourites, measuring 20 cm diameter by 7 cm deep.  Some wear to the edges of the tin but this does not spoil the overall pattern and appeal of this attractive item.
