A lovely edition of this very popular sewing magazine, This copy comes complete with the free gift embroidery transfer still attached to the centre pages, featuring a lovely image of a Dutch boy and girl to use as a Nursery border, on aprons, bibs, pillows etc, very charming. Knitting pattern for a jumper and a little girl's Spring dress, crochet and smocking stitches. There are two holes that have been punched in the side of the magazine where it has been stored. |

Using rug yarn which the leaflet says "is now in plentiful supply" or the mat can also be knitted using fine string or fine, hard-wearing thread. This is a 2 page leaflet instructions on three sides. A comprehensive vintage guide to plain sewing, embroidery, dressmaking and other home crafts including stencilling, basketry, raffia and leather work. Offering advice on home dressmaking, stitching, many forms of embroidery, mending and a chapter on crochet too. This book is missing its free embroidery transfer but has another transfer of roses in its pocket at the back and some vintage embroidery threads too. Book is in good condition for age, free from inscription but there are some marks to the cloth covers. |

| Lovely vintage crocheted thimble and needle case which has been handmade to resemble a very pretty straw hat, complete with ribbon and wool flowers in assorted colours - the perfect Easter Bonnet in fact! These designs were very popular. It opens to reveal some plain stitched linen to hold needles and a thimble nestling inside the hat. Absolutely charming! |

This one is in the shape of a beehive and has the original plastic handle too, intended to hang from your wrist and feed through the wool you use whilst knitting. The base twists off to allow you to feed the wool and there are holes in the base which act as a knitting needle size gauge. On the base are printed the words "The Design of this Beehive Wool Holder has been approved by Patons & Baldwins & is marketed with their consent". The holder is in overall good condition for age but it does have a crack (the holder itself does not separate or move when the crack is pressed), hence the lower price - please see photo. SOLD |
| Vintage little toffee tin containing a lovely old Needlebook with needles and threader and 6 cards of mending thread, 5 of which are Filosheen the other is Paton's Beehive. All of the cards of thread have been used but all are in good condition. The perfect little mending kit for your sewing box. | Two unopened packets of vintage bias binding with original packaging and contents. Both packets are in shades of lavender. Wonderful graphics on the front of the packets, which would make these items great for display or additions to your sewing collection. On the back of each packet are small remains of a price label and the plastic wrapping is missing to one tiny corner at the back of the Wear-Well packet. One packets contains 6 yards and the other 3 yards should you be able to bring yourself to use them! |

A lovely addition to any sewing or haberdashery collection, this card of press studs is in very good condition for age and comprises of six lots of six fasteners on card which has perforations to it to allow the six to be easily detached. Book bears the war economy publishing standard on inside. Wonderful, comprehensive guide to everyday embroidery which would have been well used in its day in an era of Make Do and Mend. Chapters on cross-stitch and lettering, cut-work broderie anglaise, quilting, applique etc.Black and white illustrations and photos throughout. Book is in good condition for age, has hard to find dustjacket which does have a couple of tears to edges. Great stuff! |

| Wonderful early 1930s knitting booklet, "Easily Made Berets and Scarves", part of the 'easily made' series published by George Newnes This edition has 12 patterns and designs for scarves and berets in knitting and crochet.Gorgeously illustrated with black and white illustrations too. Small booklet with 48 pages of patterns, advertisements and berets and scarves for every occasion. In very good condition for age too, just some very slight browning to pages due to age. Even if you're all fingers and thumbs when it comes to casting on, this really is a lovely little craft booklet. |

Crammed full of needlecraft tips and advice with an introduction which could have been written today "It is quite evident that there is a revival of interest in the more homely and everyday needlecrafts - needlework, dressmaking, knitting and the making up of household linens". With chapters on dressmaking, knitting and crochet, household and garment renovations and furnishings and embroidery this is a fascinating vintage craft book. To get you started the book is accompanied by a lovely old tape measure. | Now here is a lovely needlework project for those that are nifty with a needle and thread. This lovely vintage crewel work panel is stitched onto a black velvet cloth, backed with linen. This would make a beautiful cushion with a bit of time and skill. The panel measures 49 cm x 47 cm including 2cm selvedge on one edge. This is for the front panel only and would require backing and a cushion pad to complete the project. |
